ABOUT US
At the Creative Catalyst Foundation, we’re committed to addressing inequality by giving underserved kids the chance to discover and nurture their true interests. Through free, accessible art programs, we aim to spark a passion for creativity and help young people explore new experiences, build confidence, and unlock their potential.
We believe that passion is what makes life meaningful—it drives us, excites us, and gives us purpose. But too many children miss the chance to find their passion simply because they’ve never had access to it. Every child deserves the opportunity to explore what they love, regardless of financial background.
By offering free art lessons led by talented high school volunteers, we create fun, welcoming spaces where students can express themselves, connect with others, and experience the joy of making art. Our programs are low-pressure, engaging, and designed to help kids fall in love with creating—just for the joy of it.
We hope to spark change!
Our Story: Why I Created This
I'm Christina Xiao, a high school student at Lexington High School and the founder of the Creative Catalyst Foundation. I started this organization because I know firsthand how transformative art can be in a young person's life.
Growing up, I was lucky to have access to quality art education. It helped shape who I am and fueled my passion for creativity. But I also know that not every child has the same opportunities. Financial limitations and lack of resources too often prevent kids from exploring their interests, especially in the arts.
Through the Creative Catalyst Foundation, I'm working to change that. By bringing together passionate, talented student artists, we aim to provide free art education to underserved children, helping them discover new interests, build confidence, and pursue their creative potential, just like I’ve had the chance to do. This website and most of the organizing behind CCF are student-run, built and managed by me with support only where needed.
